Backup for Windows - Image Backup - Which partitions to backup
Although it might not be obvious, backing up only the Windows partition is not sufficient most of times. MBR is often written to a special partition named “system reserved” or similar.
On the screenshot below there are 2 options that both guarantee a backup that can be restored. It’s either “all drives” or “only system required partitions” which includes Windows partition as well.
The latter option might also be sufficient for bare metal restore - please make sure you know what you are doing in this case.
If you have any doubt - please use the first or the second option.
In case Image Backup is not performed for bare metal restore, but is just used for convenient backup of a data partition - all the other partitions are not required.
